Amos Davis, Jr.; born May 29, 1811 in Bellefonte, Centre County, Pennsylvania; died December 8, 1878 in Joseph, Sevier County, Utah; Amos received a fairly good education; as a young man of twenty, he met and married Mary Jane Scott; she found she could never have children of her own, so they adopted three children: John Amos Davis (not related), Mary Jane Powell and Lillian who died in infancy; in Missouri Amos Davis Jr was converted to the LDS Church and, soon after his wife was converted; he helped to build up the city of Nauvoo and went west with the Saints; they settled at Long Valley; to have more children, Amos married Susannah Justet, from Italy; their first child was born September 10, 1871 and named Mary Jane after his first wife; two more children were born to this union: Lauretta, on August 10, 1873, and Nathan on May 8, 1875; later, the family moved to Joseph, Utah; there Amos helped build a schoolhouse, tithinghouse, and a home for his family; while living in Joseph, Amos was hitching a team of mules to a wagon to take his family to Richfield; one of the mules crunched him against the side of the barn which caused his death; when little Mary Jane was eight years old her mother, Susannah, married John Amos Davis, the adopted son; to this union five children were born, four girls and one boy (some of the short history of Amos Davis Jr. written by Eurilla Wilson as told by her mother-in-law, Mary Jane Lucas, oldest daughter of Amos Davis Jr.

Mary Eurilla "Rilla" Mecham Rich Wilson; born August 10, 1898 in Garden City, Rich County, Utah; died July 3, 1989 in Boise, Ada County, Idaho; daughter of Luman Lehi Mecham and Mary Ann Hess; Eurilla (Rilla) graduated from the Paris Fielding Academy after learning how to be a school teacher; she was asked to teach for about one year; after that experience she met her first husband, Lavell Hyrum Rich, and got married on October 8, 1919; after having two children with him and one on the way, he died from complications after an appendicitus operation; she made a living in various ways with her family for about four years; after making a trip to Jackson, Wyoming, she met Joy Sylvester Wilson at a dance; after a short courtship they got married on December 4, 1929 in Logan, Utah; Joy took his new family home to his ranch in South Park, Jackson, Wyoming; they moved to Boise after she had two more sons with Joy
