Scope and Contents
Contains forty-seven negatives and prints of Utah business concerns, including forty-one photographs of businesses in Provo and Salt Lake City in 1914. The majority of these are photographs of the insides of stores. Also contains six landscape photographs taken throughout Utah. A disc with scanned versions of the photographs is also included in the collection.

Open for public research. Kept in cold storage; access requires 24 hours advance notice.
Negatives condition restricted; permission to use items must be obtained from the Supervisor of Reference Services.

It is the responsibility of the researcher to obtain any necessary copyright clearances. Permission to publish material from Photographs of Provo and Salt Lake City businesses must be obtained from the Supervisor of Reference Services and/or the L.Tom Perry Special Collections Board of Curators.

Custodial History
This collection was donated to the L. Tom Perry Special Collections by Vernon Dunn. He received the collection from his friend Dennis Dixon who found them in his father's garage after he passed away. His father is presumed to have received them from his father, who owned Hyland Lumber in Salt Lake City and was also the president of the Salt Lake City Chamber of Commerce. It is thought that he gathered these photographs during his time in office.
